How many musicians are in the Band?
The group consists of 4 members playing electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and drums, three of which also sing. Also we don’t use backing tracks!
How can I be sure that the group of musicians I hire will be the same musicians who will perform at my wedding?
SOUTHBOUND is a set 4 piece group which means all members in our band will be the same every time, in fact three of the band members are brothers. If a member is away due to illness he will be replaced with a suitable substitute.
The ages of our quests will vary considerably. Can your Band play all types of music?
YES. Our song list is extensive and the repertoire is specially chosen for a wedding audience. If your group are predominately older or younger we can alternate the play list to suite.
How long do the Band play for on the night and how many breaks do they take?
A SOUTHBOUND set is 3 hours. Usually 1¼ hours of music followed by a 20 min break (to coincide with afters food) followed by a final 1 hour music to coincide with you DJ commencing. This can sometimes run to 1 hour 15mins when the crowd are shouting for an encore! We ensure a smooth transition from Band to DJ and usually play CD’s during the break to keep the atmosphere going.
Will the Band perform at a volume that is comfortable for me and my guests?
One of the most important aspects of hiring a band is sound volume. When you book SOUTHBOUND you can be sure that we will keep the volume levels down and with our state of the art sound system and sound engineer we can easily suite the venue size and turn the sound down on request!
How can I get to see / hear the band live?
As SOUTHBOUND specialize exclusively in Weddings and Functions you won’t see us down your local! One quick call to our Pat Ryan group Manager and he will provide you with a list of live dates at a venue near you where you can judge for yourself.
What part of Ireland are you based and what is your catchment area?
We are based in Cashel, Co.Tipperary and therefore are less than 70 miles from any part of Kilkenny, Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Clare or Offaly. Due to having a Mercedes Van (GIG RIG) we are available to perform in any of these counties however, we may be available to go to any part of the country on request.
